The Waites bakery building, deteriorating and untenable, had sat vacant for over a decade. Our team saw an opportunity to develop a mixed-use project, allowing for 16,716 square feet of retail with 45 apartments above.
The project was full of challenges from parking requirements to construction logistics, but our team worked closely with the City of Birmingham to develop an aesthetically pleasing design that also met the needs of the community.
The Waites was catalytic in the multi-family development growth that the City of Birmingham continues to see today.
